Remember about 2 months back I told you about Cosmopolitan SA and Collison’s White Gold Brandy’s search for SA’s hottest bartender? I still asked you guys to show some support & vote for the 5 guys and girls from the Mother City representing us in the top 10 right…
Well last night we watched the final showdown over at Shimmy Beach Club and I have to say, the competition was tough. There were some seriously hot & talented folks in that top 10 and I certainly would have loved to be served any one (or all) of their cocktail creations. 😉 Let me just give you a little reminder of who these ladies & gents were:
So like I said, Shimmy Beach Club was the location and determining the hottest bartender out of this lovely bunch was the goal.
Now the guys (and girls) in the top 10 were not just being judged based on being a pretty face. Oh no. The judging panel was looking for someone with great crowd interaction and some serious cocktail making skills. Each finalist was going to show us their stuff by making their signature cocktail with only 3min on the clock to create that masterpiece.
But before we get to them, I have to give a special mention to the guys at the Cosmo bar who served up some crazy good welcome drinks as we arrived:
And before we got the show on the road, we had some time to snack and mingle (both professional sports in the event world 😉 ):
Somehow I also managed to get myself surrounded by hot boys… hmmmm…
Also spotted Le Riche, who was quite popular with my female readers after my pre-post:
MC for the evening was Poppy Ntshongwana from 5FM. Have always loved her, she’s got a great energy on radio and it was good to see her live for a change, cause she’s absolutely gorgeous as well. Certainly not your typical face for radio type.
After a short intro & explanation of the rules, the battle begun – 3min, guy vs girl, and the best damn cocktail of their lives:
Poor Johnny was man alone, because his competitor couldn’t make it due to some medical issues, but he took it in his stride and remained cool as a cucumber:
While the judges were deliberating about the top 2 who would meet on stage again for the final face off, we watched some crazy acrobatics which reminded me again… must get off butt and back to gym…
And then the final 2 bartending warriors were announced… and they were both from Cape Town! Johnny from Caprice had to face off against Imaan from Jade to make the Cosmo signature drink, that famous pink drink by the same name of course (and still one of my favourites).
It was a tough battle… and the crowd was split as to who their favourite was…
But in the end, Johnny with his cute smile and bundles of charm took the ultimate prize and went home with R20 000 cash. Drinks are on him then!
This just proving once again that Cape Town’s where the beautiful people are at… And I’m sure the folks at Café Caprice are pretty excited to have the hottest bartender in SA working at their spot, thus cementing their reputation as plainly just one of the hottest spots to be.
And with that I say, happy Friday folks! Hope I’ve inspired you to do some after work cocktails this eve.
