Last week I once again got to join the team from Come Wine With Us for one of their awesome food & wine evenings. This time the location was the ultra-sexy new Vista Marina in the V&A Waterfront (right behind the Two Oceans Aquarium) and the wine was provided by Durbanville Hills who also introduced us to their all new Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc. #YayForBubbles
Let me set the scene with a few pics…
How every week night should end…
You want views? They be havin’ them… ;)
I mean really, how gorgeous is this place??
Now let’s get down to the food & wine… On the cards for the evening was a 3 course dinner which had been carefully paired with a selection of Durbanville Hills’ finest wines:
And this is what it looked like:
This was the first course which was a fresh salad consisting of buffalo mozzarella cheese, tomato mousse, confit tomatoes, tomato water gel, basil pesto crumble & balsamic cream paired with Durbanville Hills Chenin Blanc.
The main course which was a juicy marinated rump espetada, served with Mediterranean vegetables, grilled olive bread served & a bordelaise bone marrow jus paired with Durbanville Hills Rhinofields Pinotage.
And for the final course we were treated to a mango and orange panna cotta with coconut tuilles & white chocolate star anise sauce paired with Durbanville Hills Merlot Rose.
Was such a fun evening. Good food, good wine and also got to meet some new peeps which was very cool. What’s not to love right?
#SquadGoals All lookin’ good in our “black & white with a touch of sparkle” looks…
Ooh and I also won a prize for best Instagram pic of the night! A R500 Vista Marina voucher… I see they also have a tapas menu, so super keen to go back and try that out…
Keen to join the next CWWU evening? Then keep an eye out for updates on www.comewinewithus.co.za. This one was only R390pp which I think is crazy-good value for an evening like this. So it’s definitely not something that’s going to break the bank.
So ja, hopefully I’ll see you at the next one. 🙂
