#DoStellies – The Warwick Wine Estate picnic experience

The last stop on our #DoStellies itinerary was Warwick Wine Estate for a gourmet picnic on their beautiful lawns…  I mean, is that a perfect way to spend a sunny Sunday or what?

I had been lucky enough to do a wine tasting at Warwick previously, and I really do enjoy their wines, but their […]

#DoStellies – Dinner at the Makaron Restaurant at Majeka House

#DoStellies – Dinner at the Makaron Restaurant at Majeka House

The Makaron Restaurant at Majeka House in Stellenbosch had been on my “to do list” since a friend of mine raved about his dinner there.  I can’t give you any direct quotes, mainly because it involved a couple of NSFW words which he used to express his overall excitement & joy, but it basically […]

#DoStellies – My lovely stay at Bonne Esperance Guest House

#DoStellies – My lovely stay at Bonne Esperance Guest House

Our home for our #DoStellies weekend getaway was the oh-so-lovely Bonne Esperance Guest House which is situated in the heart of Stellenbosch town on the oak-lined Van Riebeeck St, just to the side of the main hustle & bustle to ensure that you’re located in a slightly quieter zone.

This Victorian-style guest house which was […]

#DoStellies – The Duck Parade at Vergenoegd Wine Estate

So Vergenoegd Wine Estate has a flock of over 1000 Indian Runner Ducks who assist as natural pest-control by eating tons of snails and other bugs which help to protect the Vergenoegd vineyards.

This practice is something they’ve been refining since 1984 and a big part of why they carry a WWF Biodiversity certification.

Super cool […]

#DoStellies – Cheese & wine at Uva Mira Mountain Vineyards

#DoStellies – Cheese & wine at Uva Mira Mountain Vineyards

The 2nd stop on my #DoStellies adventure was Uva Mira Moutain Vineyards.  Their location on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain range, 620 meters above sea level, is what makes this this vineyard extra special.

Their tasting room is aaaall about the views.  On a sunny day you can sit outside, but inside is really […]

#DoStellies – Waterford Estate Chocolate & Wine Pairing

Sometimes things happen where I just have to pinch myself… Like when the awesome team from the Stellenbosch Wine Route contacted me and said I could create my very own #DoStellies bucket list and they’ll make it happen!  I mean seriously, how awesome??

We got to planning right away… I already had a few ideas […]

Love cheese? Then don’t miss out on the SA Cheese Festival this weekend

Firstly, apologies for being quiet of late… I’ve had way too much on my plate work wise & then I’m leaving for Afrikaburn very early tomorrow morning, so been a lot of prep work that’s gone into ensuring that I don’t die in the desert over the next 5 days…. I promise to be […]

I try out some beautiful wines from Usana

While having dinner at Little Saint a few weeks back I was introduced to some beautiful wines from the Usana Wine Farm in Stellenbosch on Klein Welmoed.

Usana, meaning “A new beginning” in Xhosa, is a family farm owned by the Winshaw family who have been farming on Klein Welmoed for 44 years.  But over recent years they […]

Over and above the hundreds of Stellenbosch […]
