It also helps when the invite happens to come from a super cute little nail bar with an equally cute name.
I’m talking about Hello Gorgeous over in Newlands. You’ll find it in the Newlands Quarter centre – shop nr 7, on the corner of Dean St & Main St (don’t make the mistake I made – Main St, not Main Rd. Main St is about 2 streets up from Main Rd, and there’s a big sushi restaurant called Rock Sushi Thai on the corner as your landmark).
This is actually the 2nd Hello Gorgeous in SA. The original Hello Gorgeous is over in picturesque Knysna and runs a full beauty shop. But when owner, Claire Sydow, then moved to Cape Town, she decided to open this nail bar in December of last year.
The space is bright and fun and very pretty. Everything a girl could ask for really. Oh and as you walk in, you’re greeted with a big, friendly “Hello Gorgeous!”. Absolutely loved that…
I had a fantastic time getting my hands & feet all beautified while chatting away with the ladies (when you work from home, things can get a little lonely at times, so I probably chewed their poor ears off).I left there with perfectly nude nails (I don’t like colour on my hands), baby soft feet, bright toes, and a very happy customer indeed. I’ve you’re in the southern suburbs and you’ve been looking for a cool spot to get your nails done, I’d say do give them a try.
- A standard Hello Gorgeous manicure (45min) costs R155 and a deluxe (60min – with parrafin wax) is R210.
- And a standard Hello Gorgeous pedicure (50min) costs R215, while the deluxe version (60min – with parrafin wax) costs R270.
They also do Shellac manis & pedis, gel overlays and various other quick nail options – check out their full price list over here.
