There are many reasons why one should hop on over to the Beerhouse in Long Street… 1) They have without a doubt the best beer selection in town. 2) They have pretty tasty food too. 3) That balcony area of theirs is the perfect place to hang out on hot summer days & nights:
And THEN, you also get to meet some really cool brewers with their monthly Meet The Brewers series. I was lucky enough to attend another one of these sessions about 2 weeks back. Devil’s Peak Brewing Company was there to give us a refresher course of their highly successful range of beers, and also to introduce an exciting new brew of theirs called the Grapes of Wrath (I think you’ll agree, that’s a really cool name). For those who are curious – Grapes of Wrath is a Sour Saison and a kind of wine-beer hybrid. It’s definitely got a very interesting taste, but it won’t be for everyone. If you spot it though, do give it a bash.
Now this was the first time Meet The Brewers was hosted in the Beerhouse’s brand spankin’ new events space, so we all felt very privileged to break it in so to speak…
On the cards for the evening was a whopping 6 course beer & food pairing, and we’re not talking pub grub here people, we’re talking some serious food creativity. Just check this paring menu out: But did it end up looking & tasting as good as it sounded? Damn straight it did… Let me tempt your taste buds with this little collage: So I know what you’re thinking… When’s the next one?! Don’t stress, I got you covered… The next Meet The Brewers evening is happening on Monday, 16 February 2015, and this awesome flyer will give you all the NB details: I really love Everson’s Cider, so I just know this is going to be another great evening out. I’d say you better hurry up and book those tickets guys & girls, because you definitely don’t want to miss out. #TrustMeTo the Beerhouse team, I have to say a BIG thank you for letting me crash your Meet The Brewers evening once again. I really had such a great time. 🙂
