Now Capetonians have a bad rep of disappearing during winter…
Firstly: It’s not that cold outside people – other countries have to deal with far more during their winters and they’re still social. Secondly: There are so many cool things to do during winter. By staying in all the time, you’re really missing out in a big way.
Need a good suggestion to get you started? How about the new live music Winter Series hosted by The Annex in Kalk Bay.
I popped in to check it out about two weeks ago and had a fantastic night out. Even though it was rainy and cold outside, The Annex is lovely & cosy on the inside:
On that particular night we got to enjoy the musical stylings of two incredible SA acts:I highly recommend you check out both their websites and have a listen to some of their music. I just know you’ll love it as much as I did.
Things kick off at 18:30 for 19:00, and there’s a cover charge of R120 per person. Then you can of course enjoy a few drinks or even some dinner*. They do a special menu on the night and I can vouch for the fact that their food is really tasty. Just look at this:
* Dinner/drinks not included in the R120 cover charge

Mmmmm… comfort food… (a very important Winter plus? Baggy jerseys & big coats that hide all your “overindulgences” – yes please)
Bookings are essential – so do contact Louise on info@theannex.co.za or 021 7882453. And then The Annex is located at: 124 Main Road, Kalk Bay (right next door to Kalk Bay Books)
Do it for the love of good music, good food & good wine, but also to prevent winter-induced rigor mortis from kicking in. 😉
