Tuning the Vine is happening again next Wednesday, 10 Feb 2016. If you attended any of their 2015 sessions, I really don’t have to sell this event to you, because as the flyer says above, it’s an “epic mid-week wine tasting adventure” and you know it.
But for those who haven’t yet been, here’s the lowdown:
On Wed, 10 Feb, kicking off at 5:30pm and running until 9pm, Capetonians will be coming together for the Mother City’s very own #InnerCityWineRoute for a spot of wine loving at some of the CBD’s hottest spots.
The participating venues for the Feb session are: HQ, 91 Loop Boutique Hostel, Jason Bakery, Palma, Culture Club, Bacon on Bree, Door 221, Little Saint, Orphanage Cocktail Emporium, Charango Peruvian Grill & Bar, Weinhaus & Biergarten, House of Machines, Bocca, Tjing Tjing Rooftop Bar, Signal Hill Winery and The Gin Bar.
Over and above all the wine goodness, venues will offer tasty takeaways so you can refuel but also stay on the move, and for those who want to take things to a more serious level, there are also cellar talks, sommeliers tours & wine makers on call.
You also stand a chance to win: If you take a creative selfie with your favourite producer’s bottle of vino & your Tuning the Vine glass, then upload it to Instagram or Twitter using #mybestwine #InnerCityWineRoute, you could win wine for a year. #HighFiveToThat
Newton Johnson, Jordan Wines, Raats, Buitenverwachting, Diemersdal, Klein Constantia, Almenkerk, Thelema, Hermanuspietersfontein, Waterford, Springfield, Sumaridge, Avondale, Vergenoegd, Kaapzicht, Mulderbosch, Trizanne, Grand Provence, Creation, Tokara, Vondeling, Cape Point Vineyards, Sijnn and Hartenberg, Kaapzicht, Thorne & Daughters and Montpellier will all be there. So you’re definitely spoilt for choice.
But how much does it all cost?
Tickets are R150 and are available via Quicket. Sommelier tours (which take place at 91 on Loop) start at 6pm and 7pm and cost an additional R100 per person.
Your wristband & glass can be collected either at 91 Loop Boutique Hostel or from Orphanage Cocktail Emporium in Bree.
But before you hop on over to Quicket – you may strike it lucky here because I have 2 sets of tickets to give away.
To be in the running, simply send me the following tweet:
