If like me, it feels like we’re already 6 months into the year even though it’s only February, you probably could also do with a good laugh… well fret no more my friends, because the Mother City Comedy Festival is here!
Following the massive success of their inaugural event last year, the festival is returning in full 2020-style due to popular demand… and let’s face it, just a dying need for a good distraction from all those daily stresses.
Running from 11 to 29 February 2020, it will feature more than 45 comedians performing across 40 shows over the 3 week period, ensuring that there will be lots of laughs to go around as well as a host of different comedic styles to choose from.
Produced by Siv Ngesi, in collaboration with Taylor Made Productions, the Mother City Comedy Festival will once again find its home at The Baxter Studio Theatre with two shows daily during the week & 3 shows daily on weekends.

As you can see there’s a good mix of comedy legends alongside rising stars. This year’s line-up also includes Afrikaans & Vernac shows, musical comedy, live sketch comedy and award winning performances, all wrapped up in one of the best showcases of local comedy talent around.
