I met Carla Peake a few years ago when she was based at a tattoo studio in Claremont called No Regrets. At the time she specialised in laser tattoo removal & I happened to have a pesky bird on my hand that was really bugging me. Fast forward a couple of years later, and not only is that pesky bird now gone:

Can you believe there used to be another bird flying away to the left? I hated that it wrapped onto the top of my hand, but loved the others. So just wanted that one removed. If you look very very closely, you may still be able to see a very slight shadow. This is a normal occurrence with tattoo removal. Eventually your body just completely absorbs it. But overall I’m super happy with the result & can highly recommend it to anyone who’s got a tattoo that they’re not happy with.

But Carla has also expanded her business in leaps and bounds and today she is owning it as the ultimate brow master & luscious lash lifter operating as Alternative Aesthetics:

I tried Microblading for the first time toward the end of 2017 & really loved the result, but for some reason I just never got around to getting a touch up done. However, when I heard that my girl Carla had started doing brows, I knew that’s who I was going to entrust with my microblading round 2:

I really love how natural they look. Of course if you’re wanting something with a bit more oomph, Carla also does powder (also referred to as ombre brows), microshading & combination brows. She basically sits down with you to get a good understanding of exactly the look you’re trying to achieve and then recommends the option she thinks will be best. Some careful measuring & colour planning later and you’ll leave there feeling like (and looking like) a million bucks.

Another awesome service she offers is lash lifts & tints. A low cost, super easy alternative to lash extensions. I’ve got one booked for as soon as the lockdown ends because I really love this treatment. A lash lift is basically a “perm” for your lashes which makes them look double their length & the effect lasts about 6 to 8 weeks. She posted a brilliant video on Instagram just 2 days ago which shows the whole process which I definitely recommend watching. Once you see the end result, you’ll be booking an appointment for yourself as well, I’m sure of it.
