Weekend suggestion: Hermanuspietersfontein Food & Wine Market is extending their hours

by Karisa

Located in the Hemel en Aarde Village in Hermanus, the Hermanuspietersfontein Food & Wine Market which normally takes place every Saturday from 9am to 1pm is extending their hours this Saturday, 9 Aug by staying open until 3pm.

With the weather forecast looking good, this is a great opportunity to take a leisurely drive out to this beautiful village by the sea to take full advantage of the extra food & wine goodness.

They’re promising plenty of options to make any foodie happy. Think savoury eats, sweet treats, artisan breads, award winning olive oil, yogurts & dips, spices and more. Then to top things off there’s a perfect HPF wine to go with everything. They suggest pairing some HPF Swartskaap with your lamb shwarma, or a glass of their HPF Nr 7 with your jaffels (I’ve had those jaffles btw, they are amazing). Then you can’t go wrong with a perlemoen and HPF Nr 5 pairing, oyster lovers simply have to try Maria Elisabet se Vonkel, and their “pudding wine” HPF Nr 2 apparently goes rather well with a plate of syrupy koeksisters.

For those who have not yet worked their way through the full HPF range, well known for their cheeky Afrikaans names like Kleinboet, Skoonma, Posmeester & Bloos, why not join them for a FREE wine tasting.

With the market’s strong focus on buying local and offering only the freshest produce, it’s also the perfect place to stock up on fresh veggies for the week. And for the Tim Noakes fans out there, they’ll be offering some banting friendly options too.

Take full advantage of their FREE wifi by snapping, tweeting & sharing away, and make sure you bring all your friends and the whole family (in-laws and pets included). Absolutely everyone’s welcome.
