Love the music of Cole Porter? Love seeing beautiful ballet dancers glide across the stage? Missed the Night & Day run at the Artscape?

If you answered yes to any of these, then listen up people…

This incredible production created by Robin van Wyk (choreographer and Artistic Director of Cape Town City Ballet) and inspired by the award-winning film, De-Lovely, has made its way over to the oh-so-lovely Maynarville Open-Air Theatre in Maynardville Park for a series of Sunday evening performances.

This means not only can you enjoy some breathtaking dancing under a starry sky, but you can also pack a picnic basket & some sundowner drinks to enjoy before the show.

Now what’s could possibly be cooler than that? I mean it’s definitely worth PVR’ing Carte Blanche, because let’s face it, that show is a pertty depressing way to end a weekend…

Danced to the music of Cole Porter, the show takes you on a romantic journey of this famous songwriter’s extraordinary life.

Robin also invited top choreographer colleagues, Kirsten Isenberg, Mervyn Williams, Nigel Lucas and Paul Johnson to add their creative magic to the mix.  The result? An extravagant celebration of classical and neo-classical ballet, a solid dose of jazz and tap dance, and even a hint of sexy latin and ballroom.   So basically what they’re saying is, there’s something for everyone…. AND… you should get those butts off the couch, OK.

The season will also feature live instrumental solos performed at all performances by up-and-coming young jazz musician, Jessie Williams on clarinet.  So that’s yet another reason not to miss out.
