Last night I attended the opening night of the The Fabulous Ceri Dupree Show (presented in SA by VRG Theatrical & now showing at the Artscape).
Hot off London’s West End, Ceri is here in Cape Town to dazzle you with his (or shall I say her) brand new glitter-filled extravaganza daaahlings.
With more than 30 years of musical theatre, pantomime, TV & cabaret and venues such as Las Vegas, London, Spain, Greece and the Seychelles behind his name, Ceri most recently wrote & produced Miss-Leading Ladies which ended up being a runaway hit in London.
Now here in SA, The Fabulous Ceri Dupree Show brings you something a little different…
Ceri impersonates a string of gorgeous Divas, from the glamour days of Marlene Dietrich and Doris Day, through to the Broadway Divas era as well as modern day icons Cher, Madonna, Adele & Lady GaGa.
Every song is performed live (so no lip-syncing here folks), and the outfit changes are nothing short of spectacular.
The show runs until this Saturday, 13 Feb, before Ceri jets off to Johannesburg. Tickets are R150 and available via Computicket over here. HOWEVER, my sources tell me they’re pretty much sold out… BUT they’ve added a special 3pm matinee on Saturday. So go, go, go!
