On Tuesday night I had the pleasure of checking out Bar None at the Kalk Bay Theatre. It’s a really lovely story of a bar, called Bar None of course, which wasn’t doing so well until a beautiful songbird by the name of Betty arrived out of nowhere to turn the business around. There’s love, good humour and great musical hits thrown into the mix and by the end of this 60min production, you’ll be left feeling all warm & fuzzy on the inside. (And that’s a pretty good recipe for a great night out if you ask me.)
The show was written & directed by Kalk Bay power duo, Vanessa Harris & Ash Searle, and features singing super-talent, Lucy Tops, alongside husband & top acting talent, Alex Tops, and comedic pro & incredible singer in his own right, Gary Naidoo.
And for those of you wondering: But what music will I be stomping my feet to?? Think Tina Turner, Boyz II Men, Peggy Lee, Billy Joel, Queen, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Buble, Joe Cocker, Meghan Trainor, Carole King & More.
I really loved it & I know you will too… so don’t delay, book your tickets to see this Fleur Du Cap nominated musical full of romance, laughter and nostalgia. At only R165 pp (or if you go on a Tuesday – it’s 2-for-1!), you’ll really struggle to find a better way to spend an evening.
The show starts at 8:30pm (with the restaurant opening at 6:15pm for those who’d like to join them for dinner before – just remember to book a table). There is an age restriction of 12 yrs – so that’s just something to take note of if you have little ones. But other than that, it’s everybody welcome!
To book, simply hop on over to their website over here. Bar none will be running until Saturday, 3 Nov 2018.
