So last weekend saw the first ever Women’s Lifestyle Expo which took place at The Lookout in the V&A Waterfront.
It was a celebration of everything fabulously female and if you missed it, you missed all of this:
One stand that really grabbed my attention was The Pole Project. Let me show you why:
It definitely had me wanting rock hard abs and sexy strong arms too… The Pole Project’s studio can be found on the first floor at 117 Roeland St and has, get this, sixteen 3.7m powder coated & chrome polished poles. Class numbers are limited, ensuring each student will get her (or his – men are welcome too if they’re brave enough) own pole and they offer one free trial class so you can give it a bash before committing. Do check out their website for more info.Another stand that stood out, simply because it was so pretty, was the Poppy Divine lounge & sleepwear stand. I was actually lucky enough to be gifted one of their light cotton gowns. At first I was like, meh I’m not really a gown kind of girl. I mean, I think this is the first time I’ve ever owned one. But after lounging around in my soft new baby a bit this week, we’ve become BFFs.
Then Rhebokskloof Wines definitely deserves a big high 5, because their MCC had me smiling all the way. I even got a bottle to take home with me (which lasted all of 5 minutes I think)… 😉

Contact Poppy Divine on 021 761 1919 or kirsten@poppydivine.co.za. Rhebokskloof MCC retails for approx R140. Keep an eye out for it at your local bottle store.
BUT that’s not where things end, I also have to tell you about the special pre-expo girls pampering night I was treated to at the Fire & Ice Hotel.
Myself, along with a group of gorgeous blogger ladies, got to sit back & relax, while experiencing some of the expo participant’s services first hand. #happiness
Things took place down on the pool deck where the setup included manis and pedis, flowing bubbly & wine, temptingly tasty food, and even a private magic show.
For our manis & pedis, we had the fantastic team from the Fox Box taking care of us:
Entertainment for the evening came in the form of master mentalist, illusionist & magician Larry Soffer. This man had us totally captivated by moving objects without touching them, bending forks and coins right in front of our eyes and reading our minds (not easy to do with a group of fiery woman, that I can tell you)…
There was a lot of oohing and aahing, followed my screams of “No!”, “How’d you do that!?!”, “Seriously what?”, “Do that again!”. The man was a total rock star:
Now in the goodie bag that was waiting on my bed when I put my head down to sleep that night, I also found the following things that I still need try:
Clockwise from top left: Fake Bake self tan (perfect with winter coming up – everyone hates scary white winter legs); Hey Gorgeous chocolate dipped strawberry body scrub. The stuff smells good enough to eat… in fact, I may or may not have been dared into taking a small bite after a few too many glasses of wine; moving on swiftly – the Eyecandy brow bar has gifted me the “ultimate brow experience” which includes a brow shape & tint. Very excited to give that a try. And then Just Pure skincare gave me a little starter pack of their 100% natural & environmentally friendly skin products to test drive.
Will give you guys an update on those once I’ve had time to give them a bash. Until then I have to say a huge, kick-ass thank you to the team behind the Women’s Lifestyle expo, all the brands and exhibitors that spoilt us rotten and also to Katie, Mayuri & Margot from Panache Communications for all the careful coordinating & planning. I loved every minute.
