It’s time once again for the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts

by Karisa

The Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts is something I look forward to every year…

I mean what’s not to love?  You pack a picnic basket, you pull up a piece of lawn in the most incredible garden setting (quite possibly in the world), and then you simply sit back and relax while enjoying some of the best live music around.

It’s a definite must, no doubt about it.

This year they’ve secured another awesome lineup of bands, including their very popular carols by candlelight series, as well as a big bash to bring in the new year.

Tickets prices range from R100 to R365 for adults (depending on the act) & R75 to R365 for youths aged 6 – 21, and are available via Webtickets over here OR if tickets are sold out online, you can also buy directly from Kirstenbosch from the Tuesday before the concert.

The gates open at 16h00, and concerts are held between 17:30 and 19:00.

For those who prefer the convenience of having a picnic basket prepared for you, you can also order baskets from Moyo or the Kirstenbosch Tea Room – check out the Picnic Hampers section over here for more info on how to book these.

Oh and while you’re there, also be sure to check out the Centenary Tree Canopy Walkway (aka The Boomslang) if you haven’t yet been able to pay it a visit.

So here’s what the lineup for 2014 / 2015 looks like (I’m sure you’re gonna find at least a few you definitely have to attend):

I hear The Lumineers is sadly already sold out… but if you did manage to secure tickets, you’re in for a treat. Saw these guys in Belgium last year and they’re incredible live.  Ooh and Passenger (saw him too) and he’s definitely a must as well.

And with that I’m going to say Happy Friday everyone. 🙂

xxx
