I haven’t featured the La Mouette tasting menus in a while… and sadly, I also haven’t had the time to go and visit them in waaaaaay too long (even though they really are a long-running favourite Cape Town eatery of mine). It’s had me asking: What has happened to my life!? 😉
But when their new 6 course Mid-Summer Tasting Menu popped into my inbox yesterday, I just knew I had to share the love. So get ready to drool over this:
Tomato salad
Basil oil, olive powder, smoked aubergine, buffalo mozzarella and tomato essence

Mushroom ketchup and burnt onion panna cotta

Smoked duck
Gorgonzola croquettes, celeriac pureé, confit fig and candied walnuts

Yup, that sounds pretty damn good… Also, their courtyard is a total winner for a summer lunch or dinner. I mean who doesn’t enjoy a bit of fresh air and the chance to dine under the stars, right?
