From next Wed, 25 Mar 2015, the Cape Town City Ballet will be performing one of the most popular ballets of all time: Carmen
Choreographed by Veronica Paeper, this dramatic story of a passionate love triangle between our wild gypsy girl Carmen, the debonair toreador, Escamilio, and the naïve soldier, Don Jose, will have you sitting on the edge of your seat… I mean just imagine having two total hotties fighting over you?
The production will feature Laura Bösenberg with Thomas Thorne and Kim Vieira with Ivan Boonzaaier in the leading roles of Carmen and Don Jose, with special guest performances by award-winning couple, Tracy Li and Daniel Rajna. The role of the toreador, Escamillo, will be danced by Jesse Milligan, Daniel Szybkowski and Conrad Nusser, while the role of Micaela (Don Jose’s fiancée – yup the plot thickens) will be danced by Jane Fidler, Frieda Mennen and Elizabeth Nienaber.
Each performance will be accompanied by the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Allan Stephenson and tickets range from only R100 to R220. So don’t miss out…
