Bon Soir – now showing at the Kalk Bay Theatre (and a total must see)

by Karisa

The cutest damn theatre you ever will see…

Last night I checked out the Kalk Bay Theatre for the very first time… I know, I know, why has it taken me so long??

I really can’t explain myself, but what I can say is that I’m so glad I finally managed to pay them a visit, because it is such a cute little theatre, it was most certainly love at first sight.

So what did I watch?  Well I was there to see Bon Soir, a production they refer to as “Cirque Dance Comedy“.  It sounded weird & wonderful, and therefore I knew it would be right up my alley.

Directed by Vanessa Harris, and featuring local talents Ash & Brad Searle, Nadine Theron, Ruby Burton and Lucy & Alex Tops, it’s a little touch of madness, blended with a good dose of wonderment and a whole lotta fun.

In short:  It’s a must see.

In long – have a look at the official write up:

A stimulating compilation of speciality acts to titillate your senses; UV illusions, optical contortions, strength adagio, comedy sketches and more.  Six multi-talented artists seamlessly boast one unbelievable performance after another.  Strung together with comedic antics and flawless vocals, this slick and sexy show, has enjoyed sell-out runs and rave reviews.  Featuring the famous Big Boys, Ash and Bradley Searle; the power couple that is Lucy and Alex Tops of Bar None fame; and the beautiful and sinuously acrobatic Nadine Theron and Ruby Burton of Another Day. Bon Soir parades some major eye candy and extraordinary skill.  This is a festive feast of a show for the whole family that is not to be missed.

I really don’t want to give away too much more, because it’s one of those things you just have to experience for yourself.  But I can at least give you a little peek at the stage setup:

Love the intimate, relaxed style of this theatre…

To get in on the action, take note of the following:

  • Tickets? R155 each & are available online over here
  • When?  Running until 24 Jan (they’re just closing over Xmas & New Year’s).  The show starts at 8:30pm, but I do suggest you get there early to enjoy a drink at the bar.  You can also join them for dinner before hand – read more about that over here.

The Kalk Bay Theatre will definitely be seeing me again.  This was one of the greatest intros, hand down.
