Last week the team from Come Wine With Us partnered up with Zonnebloem Wines to host a little “Welcome Back” soiree for a few of their Cape Town fans (of which of course I am one).
It was a scorcher of a day and I had been struggling with #SONA2016 road closures all day which made it difficult for me to get in and out of my apartment (I live about a block away from Parliament)… So a glass or three of wine was definitely in order.
Luckily the venue was Dunkley Square which is a quick walk away from my place. And to make the most of the warm weather they had created the cutest setup under the leavy trees of the square:
Over and above the full range of both white & red Zonnebloem wines, they had also created two refreshing Zonnebloem Sangria options which ended up being a huge hit: On the food front the team from Vandiar’s Indian Cuisine & Durban’s Finest Curry created a very tempting food truck menu consisting of samoosas with brinjal fritters, butter chicken with rice & chicken curry rotis. Don’t you just love a good food truck meal? No frills, no fuss, just plain deliciousness… This was definitely the perfect way to wash away (with wine that is) the stresses of the day…But I’m not just here to brag about the awesome time I had. I’m also here to share some info about upcoming Come Wine With Us events, because that way you can hopefully join in on the next one.
On Wed 2 March & Thu 3 March there’s the Laborie “de Tour Laborie” event at Laborie’s beautiful wine farm in Paarl. Tickets cost R300 pp and includes light music, beer and food tasting at BariBar as well as an interactive wine and tapas tasting at their TASTE tapas deck. There’s also a complimentary bus service to ensure that you arrive home safely. Online bookings & more details over here.
Then in May they have Roodeberg’s “Rediscover a classic” vintage evening hosted in the Roodeberg room at KWV, and in June it’s the Plasir la Merle ‘Barok’ evening hosted in their cellar and beautiful Manor house. (Complimentary bus trips included for both events & finer details still to be confirmed) For bookings do keep an eye out on www.comewinewithus.co.za.
So yeah, a few great events on the cards for 2016 already & more still to come. With a different event each month, there’s always something new & exciting for you to experience.
If you’re looking for a dinner club where you don’t have to do any of the cooking, CWWU is definitely a great option.
