So I hear it’s been pretty cold over in Cape Town…
(If you haven’t noticed on Insta/Twitter/FB – I’m in Vietnam baby! So I’ve luckily escaped the cold).
But hey, there’s no reason to have a sad face during winter, because winter brings awesome winter specials, and the team at La Mouette has recently launched this goodie:
Their Winter Tasting Menu – 6 courses for R395 (R665 with wines) or 7 courses for R445 (R745 with wines).
This is what’s on the menu:
Butternut arancini and whipped goat’s milk ricotta
Miso brandade, seaweed, crisp and pickled tapioca
Beef san choy bow, peanuts and coconut
Chicken noodle consommé
Crispy shallots, turnip noodles, satay and sprouts
Mushrooms on earth
Mushroom soil, black truffle croquette, salt and pepper chestnut
Avocado pureé, tartare, pickled cucumber, dashi jelly and tempura courgette flower
Barbequed beef brisket
Fermented carrots, confit and smoked marrow crumble
Cheese course (optional – R50 supplement)
Gorgonzola, Eccles cakes, port and blood orange gel
White chocolate egg
Coconut cremeux, liquid passion fruit centre, peanut and chilli foam
