On Wednesday eve I checked out Nik Rabinowitz‘s new show, Fortyfied, which is currently showing at the Baxter Theatre until the 14th of January 2017.
Now Nik’s been one of my favourite SA comedians for years and years now and therefore I never miss an opportunity to see him perform. This new show is all about him turning forty and all the challenges that go along with being on the verge of a midlife crisis. It’s awesome, it’s sharp, it’ll make you laugh until you pee your pants, it’s basically everything I could’ve asked for in a stand-up comedy show.
Here’ the official synopses:
Nik Rabinowitz has just turned forty, and is on the verge of a midlife crisis. Except that apparently forty is the new thirty, so now he’s not sure when to have the crisis, which is a crisis in itself. Also, his wife has just had their third baby – so really, he can’t have a midlife crisis – there’s no time. In the meantime, while he’s figuring all this out, he’s decided that instead of buying a Ferrari and abandoning his family, he’s going to put on a new one man show – Fortyfied.
If you’re a Rabinowitz fan, this show definitely won’t disappoint. If you’ve never seen him live… are you serious?! Book now! You’ll also get to see local comedian & king of the one-liner, Yaaseen Barnes, who fills the spot of the opening act. So even more reason to book.
The show runs from Tue – Sat at 8:30pm with a special performance on NYE kicking off at 10:15pm. Tickets cost between R100 and R150 (R255 for the NYE performance) and are available online via Computicket over here or by calling 0861 915 8000.
What are you waiting for? Book book book people…
