I recently attended the launch of a new restaurant & bar on the Camps Bay strip called The 41. Making it just in time for the summer season, The 41, promises to be a spot that will offer a little something to both daytime beach-goers and nighttime diners and party folks.
The brainchild of two French restaurateurs, The 41’s menu will over simple food with a twist prepared by internationally renowned chef Aristotle Ragavelas.
Their summer season line-up will also include some local & international DJ’s, musicians & bands. At the launch we got to enjoy a performance by the very talented Ard Matthews which was pretty awesome. (I had actually had the pleasure of seeing him twice in one week – the first time being at the Cafe Roux launch)
I haven’t had a sit-down meal here yet, so can’t comment on the food unfortunately. But I’m sharing some photos as a “hey, here’s something new” mention for you to perhaps check out over the holidays… particularly if you happen to be in the Camps Bay area.
So here goes (Photos by Little Black Book PR):
You can view their summer menu over here. It features a selection of tapas, salads, build-your-own burgers, Roma style pizzas, juicy steaks, a couple of seafood options, and a couple of tempting desserts. A few dishes that caught my eye: Seared tuna tartare with beetroot slivers, raspberries & fuji apple puree (R95), pork belly – 24 hr marinated & braised in a wood-fired oven (R140) and their crayfish risotto with spiced Bisque de Marseille (main – R290).
Things you need to know:
- They’re open: Mondays 12 noon – 10 pm, Tuesdays to Sunday 9 am – 10 pm
- You can contact them on: info@the41.co.za or 0214370558
- And they’re located here: 41 Victoria Road, Camps Bay
