If you’re looking for a boutique winery to suppo If you’re looking for a boutique winery to support during these utterly awful times for the SA wine industry - this is a goodie. They only do 3 wines (a Chenin, a Pinotage & this red blend), but all 3 are excellent. Hop on over to www.orpheusandtheraven.com

Rosé rocks baby! 💕 A couple of weeks back I Rosé rocks baby! 💕

A couple of weeks back I was sent a box of, get this, 6 lovely Rosé wines which recently won Double Gold at Rosé Rocks 2020. #WineGiftsAreTheBestGifts 🙌🏻

Rosé Rocks is an annual wine competition open to all Rosé wines produced in South Africa.  All entries are blind tasted by a panel of wine industry professionals led by wine judge / writer / lecturer Alan Mullins.

Being a total Rosé groupie, I was of course very excited to try some of the winning wines.  My box contained the following blushing beauties:

@quandowines Mourvédre Rosé 2020
@elginvintners Belle Amie 2020
@delairegraff Rose Cabernet Franc 2020
@ernieelswines Big Easy Rosé 2020
@stettynfamilyvineyards Chardonnay Pinot Noir 2020
@vredeenlust Jess 2020

My favourite?  Well now that's like asking a parent to pick a favourite child... 😉 But what I will say is that it's super exciting to see how SA's Rosé offering keeps getting better year after year.

Hop on over to www.roserocks.co.za or click through via @roserockssa to see the full list of winners.  And then be sure to think pink this summer!

Can it just be gin-o-clock already?? 😬😉 G&T Can it just be gin-o-clock already?? 😬😉

G&Ts are a go-to summer drink of mine and I'm always on the lookout for exciting new gins to try out. I was therefore super excited about a little press drop I received that not only included a bottle of gin that I had not yet tried (along with a selection of Schweppes tonics to mix it with), but also included information about the 2020 South African Craft Gin Awards which recently took place thanks to the cool people at @takealotcom.

Double Gold medals were awarded to 21 gins from an entry pool of 125 gins from all over South Africa. The gins were judged by a panel of judges who blind tasted each & every one. #ToughJob #WhereDoIApply

The @roxis_gin I received was one of this year's double gold winners & I cracked that bottle open immediately to celebrate! Spoiler alert: It was excellent.

To check out the full list of winners & get some ginspiration for your drinks trolley or home bar, hop on over to: www.craftginawards.co.za (or click through via @sacraftgin)

These award winning gins are also available for purchase on www.takealot.com.

So with that, I'm going to say a very big CHEERS to the weekend!
