Wine & Dine Wednesdays at @harringtonsct is always Wine & Dine Wednesdays at @harringtonsct is always a winning idea.🍷❤️ This month they’ve partnered with @fairviewwineandcheese , not only for a tasting of 5 beautiful wines, but also by incorporating their delicious cheeses into the menu. Think mushroom arancini with Fairview brie, grilled sirloin with Fairview blue rock sauce & a lovely roasted citrus tart made with Fairview cream cheese… Everything was so good.👌🏼👌🏼 At only R375pp this remains one of the best nights out in Cape Town. Catch them again this coming Wednesday, you won’t regret it. 😏

The stoep (aka veranda if you’re feeling fancy) h The stoep (aka veranda if you’re feeling fancy) has become my favourite part of the house. It’s giving Karoo farm house, but in the city & I absolutely love it. ❤️

A space that looked pretty dire & joyless when we bought the house is now a place to relax with a glass of wine after a long day, catch up on the comings and goings of the neighbourhood & enjoy watching the cable car go up and down Table mountain.

Every Wednesday @harringtonsct hosts Wine & Dine Wednesday where for R350 you get to enjoy a delicious 3 course meal paired with a wine tasting featuring a different wine estate each month.

It’s a great deal, a lekka evening out & one of the best ways to celebrate making it to the mid-week point.

This month they’ve partnered with @fryers_cove_vineyards, the only vineyard within the Bamboes Bay ward on the West Coast & situated only 500 meters from the Atlantic Ocean.

You’ll get to taste 5 of their wines:

• Fryers Cove Sauvignon Blanc
• Fryers Cove Chenin Blanc
• Fryers Cove Grenache Cinsault
• Fryers Cove Pinot Noir
• Doringbay Pinot Noir Rosé

There are only two more Wednesdays left with Fryer’s Cove - 20 & 27 Aug. So get those reservations in now. To book, contact them on 078 916 7903 or bookings@harringtonstreet.co.za

A Camino with wine? Well say no more 😉🍷

We recently completed the Breedekloof Camino - a 5 day all-inclusive slackpacking hiking adventure in the Breede & Slanghoek Valley AND without a doubt an experience like no other.

Your starting point is just outside Rawsonville which is approximately a 90min drive from Cape Town. From there you follow a walking route ranging from 10 to 20km per day to explore the valley. You get your walking done in the morning & finish around midday. Then you’re treated to a wine tasting & light lunch before being able to relax at your accommodation until dinner time.

It’s the perfect balance between challenging yourself but also being able to unwind & have fun.

What’s included?
- 5 days of hiking with an accredited guide
- Breakfast, walking snacks, lunch & dinner daily
- Drinks (wine, beer, non-alcoholic)
- Wine & gin tastings
- Beautiful accommodation
- Slackpacking service (they take your bags between accommodation spots)
- Safe parking for your car & a return shuttle back to it at the end of the 5 days

Need to knows:
- Max 12 people per group. You can either try get your own group together or join another group. You need at least 1 partner/buddy as the min booking requirement is for 2 ppl sharing. If you’re not too keen on sharing accommodation, then try get a group of 4 ppl together as most of the units sleep 4. We were only 2, but we met some great people & quickly became friends.
- The route is deemed medium difficulty, so you need to be relatively fit, but there’s no need for any special training beforehand & you certainly don’t need to be an elite athlete. If you enjoy longer distance walking, you’ll be fine.
- For rates & a detailed description of the route, check out their website.

If you’ve been looking for a unique getaway, this is it. Lots of little surprises along the way, a friendly & welcoming team, hospitality at its absolute best. You will love it. ❤️
