Beer tasting made easy over at Villains Ale House

by Karisa

If you enjoy an ice-cold ale, good vibes and a meal that doesn’t break the bank, you’re probably going to love Villains Ale House in Hout St, just off Green Market Square:

It’s a casual spot with a sexy dark wood interior, long beer tables, large windows and counters with a street view.  It makes for a great after-work spot where you can unwind after a long day, and if the mood so takes you, you can stay on and enjoy a bit of dancin’ when their lineup of DJs hit the decks.

Let me give you a quick look inside:

On the beer front, they have 16 craft beers on tap (plus one cider).  Don’t know which one to try?  No worries, they’ve got you covered with their beer tasting board.  Pick any 4 beers (or cider) for only R90 and you’ll get something like this:

Share a board (or two) with friends and you get to try a solid variety of beers before settling into your favourite… Cool idea, right?

And then if you’re hungry, you can also dig into some nibbles & pub-style fair:

We got a little taste of what’s on the menu and I can happily report that I really enjoyed the spiced deep fried pork rinds and the sampling of burger I tried.  Both hit the spot…

The ice cream wasn’t bad either…

Look like a spot you’d enjoy?  Then why not pay them a visit.  Villains Ale House is open Tuesday to Saturday from 12 noon ’till late.  But if you’re hungry, be sure to get there a bit earlier as their kitchen closes at 10pm.

You’ll find them at 38 Hout Street (Cape Town city center) and you can contact them on 021 422 2317 or info@villainsalehouse.co.za.
