Don’t miss El Blanco currently showing at Kalk Bay Theatre

by Karisa

On Wednesday evening I paid my favourite little theatre, the Kalk Bay Theatre, another visit to check out a new show called El Blanco…  A tale of a Mariachi which a very interesting past…

I don’t really know how to describe the show to be honest.  Best I could come up with is:  a little bit odd, a little bit crazy, and a whole lotta awesome.

Expect a series of catchy songs, stories you won’t believe, a good laugh and even a ukulele.  What’s not to love, right?!

Featuring local acting talent, James Cairns (he of Dirt, The Three Little Pigs & The Snow Goose) and written by Gwydion Beynon (who also wrote The Epicene Butcher & Amateur Hour), El Blanco is a definite must see.

This is yet another gem in a long run of hit shows that I’ve been lucky enough to see at the Kalk Bay Theatre.  All I can say is that these guys really do know how to pick ’em…

Oh and if my word isn’t enough, El Blanco also won one of only two Gold Standard Bank Ovation Awards at the 2015 National Arts Festival.  So there you go, you can’t argue with Gold status people.
