Spring is around the corner and what better way to celebrate than with a day of festivities out in the winelands.
This Saturday, 2 September 2017, it’s time for the 2017 Waterblommetjie Festival.
Taking place at selected wine farms & cellars in the Boland area, including Boland Cellar, Under Oaks, Rhebokskloof Wine Estate and Windmeul Kelder, the festival promises a great line-up of live entertainment, fun activities for the little ones, pop-up stores & stalls, lots of delicious food, wine tastings and more.
Only a 50 – 55min drive out of Cape Town and with all the wine farms within a short driving distance of each other, you can easily visit a couple (or all) of the farms. Or… if you find one you love, you can of course also settle in for the day….
The other great reason to go is to show support for the Paarl Haven Night Shelter, because get this – there are no entrance fees. All you have to do to gain entrance is to bring along one tin of canned food per vehicle which you’ll handover when arriving at your first wine farm.
Waterblommetjie Festival visitors also stand a chance of winning one of four R500 cash prizes. Collect your passport card at any participating wine farm/cellar and stamp the card at each establishment to secure your name in the draw.

I sadly can’t make it due to a clash with a friend’s 30th birthday celebrations, but the kind organisers sent me this awesome hamper of goodies to get a small taste of what will be on offer on the day…
You, on the other hand, should totally make a day of it and join in on all the Waterblommetjie fun. 🙂xxx
