Date night suggestion: Pepperclub Hotel & Spa Dinner & Movie nights

by Karisa

Looking for a cosy winter outing which you can do with your special someone without breaking the bank?  Then definitely check out the Pepperclub Hotel & Spa Dinner & Movie nights.

Picture the scene:  A lovely one course dinner in their Sinatra’s Restaurant before getting comfy in their retro 60s-style 29-seaster movie theatre to watch a movie selected from the most popular new releases to hit our cinema screens while enjoying some complimentary popcorn.

Taking place every Friday & Saturday (with no predetermined end date in sight just yet), you can enjoy this dinner & movie special for only R195 per person:

I joined them 2 weekends ago for the screening of The Last Jedi, and had a lovely time.  It wasn’t super busy (as it was their first weekend), but that just meant our pick of any seats in the theatre.

Sinatra’s Restaurant.

You can also have a drink at the bar before dinner.

The Dinner & Movie night menu.

The grilled beef rump – lovely dish, only thing I would recommend: if for example you normally go for medium, go for medium rare instead. The meat is a little tough.

The roasted peri-peri chicken – I wouldn’t normally order chicken in a restaurant, but this really was delicious.

Love how big the seats are in the cinema. It’s like Ster-Kinekor’s Cine Prestige, but in a more intimate setting.

You can also order some additional sweet things from their movie snacks menu.

This is what the movie schedule looks like for the rest of May & June:

  • 18 and 19 May – Thor: Ragnarok
  • 25 and 26 May – Jumanji
  • 1 and 2 June – Black Panther
  • 8 and 9 June – Pitch Perfect 3
  • 15 and 16 June – The Post
  • 22 and 23 June – Murder on the Orient Express
  • 29 and 30 June – Jurassic World

Keep an eye out on their Facebook page for further updates for July & beyond.

The movies start at 8:30pm, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy dinner from 7pm onwards before.  Seen a movie that you’ve been dying to see (or even see again), then book your spot now.  I suspect as this picks up, seats will fill up fast.

To book, contact call them on 021 812 8888 or email them at banqueting@pepperclub.co.za.

I love this! I also love that the movies are more recent too.

Yeah I thought the same regarding the movies. Other dinner and movie night type things I’ve done before all had older movies. Let me know what you thought if you do end up booking. 🙂

I’m going to the dinner and movie night tonight with my sister! Looking forward to it!
We’re going to see The Grand Budapest Hotel, which isn’t very recent, but we love Jude Law so it doesn’t matter 🙂
