Famed as “South Africa’s version of The Hangover meets Flashdance” by Cue Magazine, Big Boys Don’t Dance was the original installment which kick-started a series of hilarious yet skillfully impressive shows featuring dancing brothers Ash & Brad Searle.
To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the beginning of the Big Boys saga, the boys are back on stage performing the same show that led to them taking their talents to a global stage while raking in awards along the way.
BUT, in true Big Boys style, the show has received a major overhaul featuring new bits & skits that cover all things popular & current today.
Didn’t have the pleasure of seeing the original? Here’s a quick synopsis of the show:
The show takes you on a wild journey of stereotypical male behavior. The ripple effect of a disaster bachelor party forces Ash (So You Think You Can Dance) and Brad (his equally talented younger brother) to dance their way out of chaos. From Hip Hop to Kwaito, Dirty Dancing to the Dab, these boys prove that real men do dance.
I’ve followed the Big Boys saga with much love & can guarantee you that this show will leave you with a feel-good feeling like no other. Dust of those drab winter vibes, grab a glass of wine (or even dinner before – the restaurant makes a mean steak) and settle in for 60min of pure, unadulterated theatre fun.
Big Boys Don’t Dance is currently showing at Kalk Bay Theatre until 7 June 2019.
Tickets are only R165. Plus on Tuesdays you get two for the price of one & on Wednesdays it’s pay for one main meal & get another main free at the restaurant. Seriously, those are some really awesome options.
The show starts at 20:30 (Tue, Wed, Fri & Sat) and is suited for anybody over the age of 10 (due to some ever-so-slightly risqué content).
There really is nothing to think about here boys & girls. This will be a night out you won’t regret, so book those tickets now.
