Middle Eastern & Mediterranean goodness at Sababa

by Karisa

Been looking for a fresh, healthy lunch alternative?

Look no further than Sababa in Bree St.

Sababa specialises in Middle Eastern & Mediterranean dishes which they serve up buffet style with constantly changing options.  In a way it kinda reminded me of The Kitchen in Woodstock (which I love) with their great variety of salads and veg and the option to add some proteins to the mix as well:

It’s a very casual dining experience.  You pick what you want, one of the ladies there will help you dish up and then you grab some cutlery and pull up at seat at the window or outside.

My friend Melain and I went for the lunch box special where you choose 1 main & 3 salads/veg for between R60 and R70 for a medium plate (depending on which main you go for) or R75 and R85 for a large plate.

We also grabbed a glass of refreshing water (free), fresh lemonade and a little something sweet from their dessert table to finish it all off with:

FYI – They also do platters for functions.  Options for these can be found over here.

The food was really tasty and I left there actually feeling good about my lunch outing instead of guilty (even though I had a tiny cupcake too).  So for that reason, I’m going to give Sababa an overall Miss K Kiss-o-Meter of:
