I’m a huge lover of wine festivals… but this is one I’ve actually never had the pleasure of attending before…
The Stellenbosch Wine Festival is taking place this weekend, 5 – 7 February, and promises you the chance to sample some of the best wines from the region.
Over and above the hundreds of Stellenbosch wines from both award-winning & small boutique wineries, there’s also a selection of gourmet food offerings by top restaurants, live music by Karen Zoid, BlackByrd, Ard Matthews and more, and even grape stomping and barrel rolling competitions.
Tickets (which include a tasting glass) cost R180 pp and are available via Webtickets over here. (Kids under 18 enter for free & there’s a kids area for them too)
There are 3 sessions (with tastings finishing an hour before closing time):
- Friday from 15h00-21h00
- Saturday from 10h00-18h00
- Sunday from 10h00-18h00
Then there’s also The Tasting Room where celebrity chef Tiaan Langenegger will team up with winemakers from Blaauwklippen, Ernie Els Wines, Kaapzicht, Kleine Zalze, L’Avenir, Mooiplaas, Spier, Villiera, Waterford Estate and Waterkloof to create amazing food & wine pairings. Sessions last 30min and are limited to 40 guests each, so booking is essential. Tickets can be bought on the day at the festival for only R25.

I’m going to be attending the Sunday session and I’m really looking forward to it. Maybe I’ll see some of you guys there?
