Belinda Davids sets the stage on fire…
Showing at the Artscape Opera House until 16 July 2017, this Whitney Houston tribute show features the super talented, Belinda Davids who originally reigns from Port Elizabeth, but now lives here in Cape Town.
When I originally got the invite, I didn’t think I was that big a Whitney fan and therefore I wasn’t sure whether I would enjoy the show… But sheesh, let me tell you… I’m so glad that I accepted, because this show blew my bloody hair back. 🙂
Belinda has one of the most incredible voices I’ve ever heard live. She gave me goosebumps from beginning to end. I also liked that she felt “real” and wasn’t just on stage imitating a muscial legend. She definitely brings her own vibe to the stage. Oh and if like me, you think you’re not really a big Whitney fan, think again. I ended up singing along to every single song, proving that we’re all actually Whitney fans, whether you admit it or not.
The show features all of Whitney’s greatest hits including I Will Always Love You, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, One Moment in Time, Didn’t We Almost Have It All and I’m Every Woman. My personal favourite was Belinda’s rendition of “I have nothing” (from The Bodyguard soundtrack of course – freakin’ loved that movie). It’ll give you chills I tell you!
So ja, this is definitely not one to miss. You simply HAVE to go see it. No doubt about it.
