After a lazy Sunday morning breakfast, what’s better than getting out there and connecting with nature, right? Well that’s exactly what we got to do thanks to the team from Equine Sport Centre who are based on the Wild Clover Farm just outside Stellenbosch.
Equine Sport Centre offers trail rides, riding lessons, and horse training & housing (also known as a livery) facilities. Their trail rides are available from Tuesday to Sunday and takes place on neighbouring farms including Pete’s Place and Villiera.
You can choose between 30min up to 2 hr trails, or even romantic sunset trails in the summer months. Then if you so wish you can also combine your trail ride with a wine tasting or beer tasting & something to eat at the Wild Clover Brewery.
And for those who are worried about not having any horse riding skills – don’t stress! They have 9 gorgeous trail horses which cater for all levels of riding.

To ensure that all riders feel comfortable, they keep the pace as slow/fast as the least experienced rider…

- Or call these ladies directly: Uzel – 083 601 8502, Marche – 083 454 9718
BUT they’re currently also running a special through Groupon where for R550 you get a 60 to 90-Minute Horseback Trail Ride with Beer Tasting and Pizza to Share for Two.
And then there’s also a BIRTHDAY SPECIAL: This package consists of a trail ride of an hour or an 1.5 hour trail where the birthday boy/girl rides for free! (A maximum of 8 and a minimum of 3 persons at a time including the birthday person of course).
So yeah, for some good ol’ fashioned horsing around (see what I did there), do give them a call. 🙂
